About the Author
Wattanit Hotrakool is a researcher, a software engineer, and an advocate of human-AI collaboration. Currently serving as Vice President of AI at a technology company in Thailand, he leads teams in adopting advanced AI techniques to transform many traditional fields including software development, banking, and legal.
He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, where his research focused on medical imaging introduced him to the field of AI. Over time, his research interests have shifted toward more human-centred applications, evolving from robotics and aerospace to retail and banking.
Throughout his career, Wattanit has focused on bridging the gap between cutting-edge, emerging technologies and practical problems, helping organisations implement solutions that create real value rather than just adopting technology for its own sake. Wattanit’s approach emphasises the value of human judgement and creativity in partnership with AI assistance.
When not exploring new ways to collaborate with AI, Wattanit enjoys reading, drinking, playing music, and studying for a law degree.
